Description

Frequency Table: A table for organizing a set of data that shows the number of times each item or number appears.
Example frequency table:
Assume that mathematics grades in a 13student class are as fallows: A, B, B, B, D, A, A, C, C, C, D, D, B. The frequency table to summarize the distribution of grades is
Grades
Frequency
A
3
B
4
C
3
D
3

Above, for example, the row B4 represents the information that 4 of the students have B in mathematics.
And that is all there is to creating a frequency table. Often,
though, a frequency table is used simply as a stepping stone for creating other
representations (line plots, stemandleaf plots, and histograms) of the same type of
data.
