 Description  
 Least Common Denominator (LCD):  The least common multiple of the denominators of two or more fractions.

The diameter of an Oreo cookie is inches long. The diameter of an ACME cookie is inches long. If you do not have the cookies to physically compare, how can you determine which cookie is bigger (i.e., which has the bigger diameter)? You can compare the fractions. One way to make this comparison is to find the least common denominator of the fractions. The LCM of 4 and 5 is 20. So,
