One of the most commonly used models for simulation involves
random numbers. Random numbers can be generated by a calculator or a computer. Although mathematicians do not call them truly random, they certainly are
considered useful (and random!) enough for most simulations. Over a period of time, the
frequency with which numbers appear evens out because each number has an equal
chance of occuring each time.
Design a simulation that will approximate the result of the
following situation:
Each box of Toasty Puffs cereal contains one of five different
prizes. If there is an equal chance of obtaining each prize, then how many boxes
of cereal would you need to purchase in order to collect all of the
prizes?
