 Description
Solid:  A figure that has length, width, and thickness (i.e., a figure that is 3-dimensional).

An example of a solid is a cube. Think of a pair of dice. Each die represents a cube since it has length, width, and thickness.

Sometimes a 3-dimensional object, regardless of whether the inside is filled or not, is called a solid. For example, a box is a 3-dimensional object (a rectangular prism) that can be filled. However, it can also refer to an object that is not filled with something solid, such as a shoe box.
