 Description  
 Transformation:  The mapping, or movement, of all the points of a figure in a plane according to a common operation.

Some transformations, like dilation, affect the size of the figure. Other transformations, called isometries, preserve the size of the figure. Examples of isometries are translations, reflections, and rotations.
