 Description  
 Unit Rate:  A comparison of two measurements in which the second term has a value of 1.
Unit rates are used to compare the costs of items in a grocery store. For example if eight ounces of orange juice cost $2.25 and twelve ounces of juice costs $3.25, you would calculate the unit rate to determine which container was the cheapest.
