Coordinate Plane: A twodimensional region determined by a pair of axes and that uses numerical values
to represent the location of an object. 
This drawing shows an example of a Cartesian coordinate system. The horizontal purple line is the xaxis and the vertical green line is the
yaxis. These axes are references from which we can uniquely define a point in the plane.
Together the axes separate the plane into 4 parts called
quadrants. The quadrants are labeled as I, II, III, and IV. The picture below shows all of the four quadrants.
