 Diameter:  The distance across a circle through its center. The line segment that includes the center and whose endpoints lie on the circle.
The wheel of this horse cart is a circle. A diameter is any line passing through the center of the circle. The spokes inside the wheel illustrate seven diameters of the wheel, because each spoke passes through the center of the wheel.

The wheels of the horse cart are circles.

The spokes inside the wheels represent diameters of the circle.
