 Distributive Property:  The sum of two addends multiplied by a number is the sum of the product of each addend and the number.

The distributive property is used when a company gives its earnings to its employees when they are given a raise. For example, if each employee earns 4% more next year, then the company will need to multiply each of the employees earnings by 1.04.
