The temperature outside can be given in degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius. For example, at the freezing point of water, 0 degrees Celsius is equivalent to 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you are doubling the recipe for cookies that requires 3/4 cup of flour, you will need a total of 6/4 cups total. Measuring cups will likely not have 6/4 marked on its side, but instead have a value equivalent to 6/4, such as 1.5 or 1 1/2 cups.
