The total amount of money spent on a dinner at the local restaurant is the sum of the meal price, the tax, and the tip. If a $20 meal has a 7% tax and a 15% tip, the the total amount of money spent is 20 + (.07)20 + 0.15(20). By following correct order of opperations, you will need to multiply the individual products before finding the sums when evaluating the numerical operation. The total amount will be 20 + 1.40 + 3.00 = $24.40.
