 Part-Part:  One meaning of a ratio that represents a relationship between one part of a whole and another part of the same whole.
A part-part ratio compares two parts of a whole. For example, in a classroom there are boys and girls. A part-part ratio in a classroom could compare the ratio of boys to girls in the classroom.

A classroom can compare the number of boys and girls in the class.

Another example of a part-part ratio could be to compare the ratio of almonds to peanuts in a can a mixed-nuts.

In a mixed bag of nuts, you can compare the number of each kind of nut.
