 Percent:  A fraction or ratio in which the denominator is 100.
Sales at clothing stores often have signs advertising articles of clothing at a certain percent off the original price. For example, a dress may cost $100, but it is on sale for 20% off. How much does the dress cost after the 20% is taken off? Take a look at the receipt below to check your answer. Stores must also charge a sales tax on every purchase. In this case the tax is 7% of the total amount purchased. What is the final cost to the customer, including tax?
