 Plane:  One of the basic undefined terms of geometry. A plane goes on forever in all directions (in two-dimensions) and is "flat" (i.e., it has no thickness).
At the airport, the flat surface of a runway is an example of a plane. The runway is a finite plane because it does not continue on forever in either direction.

An airport runway is a flat surface, or a plane.

The surface of a pool table is another example of a finite plane.

A pool table surface is flat like a plane.
