Theoretical Probability:  The mathematical calculation that an event will happen in theory.

Often games involving team sports such as football, soccer, rugby, etc., begin with a referee flipping a coin to determine who will get the ball first. They do this because theoretically, each team has an equal probability of winning the coin toss.
