 Ton:  A customary unit used to measure the weight of an object.
Cars are transported on large trucks. Each truck can hold 15 tons of cars. If economy cars, such as Honda Civics, weigh 1,100 pounds how many cars could fit on each carrier.

15 tons * 2,000 pounds/ton = 30,000 pounds.
30,000 pounds divided by 1,100 pounds = 27.27 cars
