Centroid:  The point of intersection of the medians of a triangle. Also, the point in a figure or solid which is the balance point, or center of gravity, of the figure or solid.
A centroid is a center of mass, the place where an object can be perfectly balanced. For example, a fulcrum is placed at the center of mass of a teeter totter so it can move up and down.

Acrobats and circus performers hold objects at their center of mass so they can balance large items with their nose or teeth.
