 Corresponding Sides:  Sides that have the same relative positions in geometric figures.
Achritects need to consider corresponding sides when they are designing floor plans for a house. As they draw the plan, they are constantly comparing the scaled version to what the actual version might look like.

Orienteering, the process of navigation with a map and compass, involves corresponding sides. For example, if a person identifies a river nearby, then he or she would have to reorient the map so that it corresponds to the river shown in the map.
