 Volume:  The amount of space occupied by an object.
Area of a Circle: The measurement of the region enclosed by a circle. The area of a circle is always expressed in squared units.
Area of a Polygon: A measurement of the region enclosed by the sides of a polygon. The area is always expressed in squared units.
Solid: A figure that has length, width, and thickness (i.e., a figure that is 3-dimensional).
Polyhedron: A 3-dimensional figure that has polygons as faces.
Sphere: The set of all points in space that are equidistant from a fixed point, called the center.
English System: A system of measuring using units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, and pound.
Metric System: A system of measuring lengths, volumes, and weights using units such as meter, liter, and kilogram.
Capacity: The greatest volume that a container can hold.
Cubic Unit: Standard measure of volume.
Dimensions: The measure of the magnitude or size of an object.
Surface Area: The total area of the 2-dimensional surfaces that make up a 3-dimensional object.
