 Quadratic Function:  A function of degree 2 which has a graph that "turns around" once, resembling an umbrella-like curve that faces either rightside up or upside down. This graph is called a parabola.
Quadratic: A relationship that relates to squaring or second degree equations. Or, an equation with one term that contains a squared variable.
Equation: A mathematical sentence that contains an equals sign.
Degree of a Polynomial: The largest exponent of x which appears in the polynomial
Solution: A number (or ordered pair of numbers, or set of numbers) that produces a true statement when substituted for the variable(s) in an equation or inequality.
Minimum: The lowest point on a graph. The smallest number in a data set.
Maximum: The highest point on a graph. The biggest number in a data set.
Parabola: The graph of a quadratic or second-degree equation.
Quadratic Equation: An equation of degree 2, which has at most two solutions.
