 z-score:  A measure describing how close members of a data set are from the mean of the data set.
Variance: A measure of how spread out a set of data is.
Standard Deviation: A measure describing how close members of a data set are in relation to each other.
Mean: The sum of the numbers in a set of data divided by the number of pieces of data. This is what we usually call "average." Also called the arithmetic mean.
Measures of Central Tendency: Numerical values used to describe the overall clustering of data in a set, or the overall "average" of a set of data. The three most common measures of central tendency are the mean, median, and mode.
