 Cross-section:  The region formed by the intersection of a solid and a plane.
Solid: A figure that has length, width, and thickness (i.e., a figure that is 3-dimensional).
Plane: One of the basic undefined terms of geometry. A plane goes on forever in all directions (in two-dimensions) and is "flat" (i.e., it has no thickness).
