Data Analysis Syllabus - Class 7 & 8


A. Participants engage in investigations that involve displays of data.

    Participants should choose investigations that involve:

    • constructing, reading, and interpreting displays of data (i.e. scatter plots, box and whisker plot, circle graphs, histograms, bar graphs, stem and leaf plots, line plots, line graphs, pictographs, frequency distributions)
    • selecting and an appropriate graph and scale for displaying data (i.e. scatter plots, box and whisker plot, circle graphs, histograms, bar graphs, stem and leaf plots, line plots, line graphs, pictographs, frequency distributions)
  1. Week 7: Choose from investigations focused on
  2. Week 8: Choose from investigations focused on

B. Participants are introduced to Graphing Calculator software.

C. Participants engage in activities to develop their graphing calculator skills.

D. Participants complete web page write-ups to include in their online portfolios.
