Penning for Pony
By
Angela Wenger
To make a pen
for his new pony, Ted will use an existing fence as one side of the pen. If
he has ninetysix meters of fencing, what are the dimensions of the largest
rectangular pen he can make?
Ted
is going to take part of his existing fence to create a new fence for his
pony. One side of the rectangular fence is already in place. One way to
solve this problem is to create a spreadsheet in excel which will allow you
to show the maximum value of the area of the fence, which will give you the
largest dimensions of the fence.
