Title
Penning for Pony

Problem Statement
To make a pen for his new pony, Ted will use an existing fence as one side of the pen.  If he has ninety-six meters of fencing, what are the dimensions of the largest rectangular pen he can make?

Plans to Solve/Investigate the Problem

The problem can be set up on an excel worksheet.  The worksheet will contain possible pen and area dimensions.

Investigation/Exploration of the Problem

The following is taken from the excel worksheet.  It was assumed that the fixed side of the fencing is at least 96 meters long.  The largest pen that Ted can make is 24 meters by 48 meters for an area of 1152 meters.
