Problem Statement

The Math Theater has 15 rows of seats. The first row has 25 seats. Each row thereafter has two more seats than the row before it. With this information, how many seats are there in the theater altogether?

Problem setup

If a theater has 15 rows of seats how many seats are in the theater if there are two additional seats in each row and the first row has 25 seats.

 

Plans to Solve/Investigate the Problem

I plan to write a chart with with one column labeled ROW# and the next column labeled SEATS. I will have 1-15 under the row number and 25 seats for the first row of seats adding two additional seats thereafter. I will then add up all of the numbers on a calculator.
