A. Pythagorean Triples, Figurate Numbers, and Historical Aspects of Number Theory

Participants should choose investigations that involve:

  • Identifying and generating Pythagorean triples
  • Recognizing the number patterns that are generated form geometric shapes (square, triangular, and star numbers, etc.)
  • Examining historically noteworthy problems from number theory

Participants explore some of the following investigations focused on Pythagorean triples, figurate numbers, and historical aspects of number theory

B. Participants add write-ups to their online portfolios
