A. Enjoyment/beauty of Numbers, Countable, Uncountable, Large, and Small Numbers

Participants should choose investigations that involve:

  • Exploring mathematical oddities
  • Determining one-to-one correspondences between sets and countable/uncountable infinite sets
  • Representing large and small numbers using scientific notation
  • Using visual models to represent large and small numbers and their occurrences in the world
  • Estimating answers before applying algorithms and assessing the reasonableness of those answers

Participants explore some of the following Investigations:

  • Enjoyment/beauty of numbers
  • Countable and uncountable
  • Large and small numbers
  • Estimation

B. Participants add write-ups to their online portfolios
